Mechanical sightscreen and sun protection in the space between the insulating glass panes
Mechanical solar control systems are integrated into the space between the panes. They can be designed as Venetian blinds (ipacontrol J), pleats (ipacontrol P) or roller blinds (ipacontrol R) – Venetian blind systems dominate, however. The sophisticated system allows the light getting through to be continuously varied. The system itself is installed in a protected position in the space between the two insulating glass panes, so that the appearance of the blinds cannot be spoiled by dust.

There are many possible applications, either as a sightscreen or as a tool for light control: for example in conservatories, showers, windows or in the meeting rooms of offices. Dazzle-free television at times of bright sunshine, undisturbed meetings in offices and medical treatment rooms, room partitioning and privacy screens. The blinds can be adjusted to allow the desired amount of light through without any restrictions. In the convex position of the slats, the bulk of the solar irradiation is reflected, which minimizes light transmittance and the g-value. In the concave position, it is possible to control the direction of the light entering the interior, e.g. to direct it towards the ceiling. From there, the reflected light provides dazzle-free illumination e.g. for work with computers. |
High-grade materials and technology ensure that the system functions over a long lifespan. It is operated either manually using an external magnetic control device, or by means of an internal electric motor.
